Parapet

This piece is amazing..it stirs up a strange fear in my heart, as if...something is wrong? I cannot tell, perhaps it is the sheer strange, and lovely beauty of this picture, of how the character could be anything...A rich man, or woman, I cannot tell, both would be beautiful, or a beggar given a nights refuge...Both reflecting on some love, of the sweetness of both the rose and their scent, a bemused expression...of perhaps a lost love. I cannot tell, but I glean many things from this excellent work... tragedy, hope, and a deep sense of longing love and amusement. You have brought them all to us in a delightful mystery, and I thank you...
